Free ships /Fees concession

OBJECTIVES OF THE PRACTICE

  •  To cater to the needs of economically weak but meritorious and deserving students, especially from rural background and weaker sections.
  •  To release students from financial pressure and help them to become quality engineers in the society.
  •  To help our students to devote more time and energy to academics rather than part-time work.
  •  To identify students who actually need this support.

CONTEXT

Our institution was established in 2007 with a motive to provide quality education where financial instability will not be a barrier to get education. It is highly beneficial for students to enroll in fully funded free ships/ fee concessions keeping students away from financial stress. This practice hs played a serious role in producing quality Engineers.

THE PRACTICE

Info Institute of engineering offers free ships/ Fee concessions for students. This practice is a proof to our commitment in providing students with the opportunity to carry a Quality Education.

  •  The INFO Education Free ships/ Fee concession is open to all students.
  •  This practice is only valid for the programme in which the applicant has enrolled and must continue to be a student at IIE for the duration of the programme.
  •  A student’s fee is further reduced based on the Talent test conducted by the institution before their admission.
  •  The Institution provides Single- Parent concession, Alumni concession, Sibling concession, concession to Off-springs of Info Employees, Merit scholarship based on cut-off and Sports Quota.
  •  The Institution support students from unstable economical background with affordable fees.
  •  If needed, the institution also fixes concession in Hostel fees and Transportation fees.
  •  Our institution also provides fees concession to the students those who are physically challenged.

EVIDENCE OF SUCCESS

Nearly 79 students got benefited from our best practice 1 in the year 2022-2023. Here are few of our final year students’ lists who got benefited from this practice.

  •  VEERA KUMAR C B (CSE) who was provided with fees concession has been placed in WIPRO HR SERVICES with Annual Income of Rs.6, 00,000.
  •  SHAMSUNDAR R (CSE) who was given sibling concession has been placed in BELSTAR MICROFINANCE LIMITED with Annual Income of Rs.3, 21,000.
  •  EBICIA SELVIN B (ECE) who was given sibling concession has been placed in INNOVALLEY WORKS with Annual Income of Rs. 3,75 ,000.
  •  DEEPAN P S (CSE) who was given sports quota concession has been placed in INNOVALLEY WORKS with Annual Income of Rs.5, 00,000.

PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED

  •  Submitting the proper documentation is mandatory for approval of fees concession. Some students fail to submit proper certificates and documents which leads to the rejection of their request on fees concession.

INFO LMS (IIE MOODLE)

OBJECTIVES OF THE PRACTICE

  •  To make learning effective.
  •  To effortlessly blend in technology.
  •  To give the privilege of accessing content anytime, anywhere.
  •  To provide user-friendly and economically feasible environment.
  •  To customize the learning sessions.

CONTEXT

LMS has witnessed the strides of technology. Several digital learning models and tools are based on the internet. Most famous among the digital learning platforms like Moodle and Greenstone are provided to our students.

THE PRACTICE

Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment (MOODLE) is an Open Source Learning Management System (LMS) that paves the way for digital learning in simple text files like

  •  Microsoft documents - Video / Audio files.
  •   PDF files (.pdf)
  •  This is a learning arena where students study digitally with remote access.

GREENSTONE

This software updates all the Anna University Theory Question Papers of all the subjects which is available in college digital library. Students utilize this to practice for final exams. It helps students become familiar with the exam pattern.

How our students get benefited from Moodle?

All the students and teachers are provided with User id and Password through which they can log in to the Moodle. Faculty updates their subject’s syllabus, Lecture notes of all the units, upload previous year’s University question papers along with its answer keys and Assignment questions. Our students may prepare for their examination by revising the question banks through Moodle. This software can be accessed remotely anywhere by students proving to be one of the best practices of our institution.

  •  Students are upskilled and reskilled by using personalized learning paths, blended learning and micro learning.
  •  Students can identify areas that require further learning that leads in self-improvement through the notes and explore concepts within the course digitally.
  •  This approach helps our students to stay engaged resulting in improved learning outcomes technically.
  •  Our students remain focused on their academic objectives, thereby enhancing their learning experience in a digital platform.
  •  This practice effectively communicates crucial information to students, thereby enabling them to retain key concepts.

PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED

  •  The challenge in LMS support is user training and adoption.
  •  For this, separate training sessions are organized for learners to familiarize with the LMS features.
  •  Unreliable internet connectivity
  •  As technology advances cyber threats are rising. While using LMS, students may also experience the same.The following steps are taught to our students by trainers to avoid such threats in LMS:
  •  Using strong passwords.
  •  Making sure to give higher-level access to relevant people only.
  •  Backing up often and encrypt data.
  •  Ensuring that LMS is hosted on secure servers.
